This position is located in Hunt Valley, MD. Working on a team of production operators, the Production Operator III will manufacture dehydrated and liquid cell culture media. The Production Operator III will be able to follow batch record instructions and will be expected to weigh microgram to kilogram quantities of individual raw materials, calibrate equipment, follow safety policies and procedures, operate milling equipment, perform sterile filtration and any other tasks required to complete cell culture media manufacturing. Standard product testing, such as osmolality, pH and turbidity, will also be performed in this job. This position works closely with R and D, procurement, quality, process technology, marketing as well as external and internal customers and vendors.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
:Responsible for the staging and compounding of raw materials within +/: weight tolerances (e.g. micrograms to kilograms); manufacturing of dehydrated culture media (DCM) through milling and blending; manufacturing of liquid media through hydration and aseptic liquid filling; process control monitoring and documentation of such procedures in electronic batch record and in accordance with production schedules following the appropriate cGMP and departmental procedures.
:Completes all required documentation neatly, accurately, and in accordance with cGMP.
:Performs cleaning, inspection, calibration and assists in the maintenance of equipment. Maintains related logs and records. Performs equipment troubleshooting.
:Responsible for maintaining raw material electronic inventory, lab supplies, and equipment that support production.
:Handles raw materials per cGMP and safety requirements.
:Uses equipment such as pipettors, balances, osmometer, turbidmeter and pH meters.
:Promotes a safe work environment.
:Required to follow through on assigned responsibilities and able to function under minimal supervision.
:Responsible for promoting positive team environment through good communications and team engagement.
:May be required to work overtime.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
:High School Diploma or equivalent.
:Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in manufacturing process facility.
:Must be able to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, and follow testing and inspection procedures.
:Must be able to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and logs.
:Basic knowledge of electronic batch records is highly desirable.
:Must be able to use calibration equipment.
:Mechanical aptitude is required to operate equipment, identify mechanical problems, and perform minor equipment repairs.
:Must be able to focus continuous attention to detail.
:Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and use of Windows applications such as MS Excel, MS Word and MS Powerpoint is required.
:Must have familiarity with basic laboratory equipment such as pH meters, osmometer and bench:top and analytical balances.
:Must be able to lift or move approximately 20lbs.
