The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) invites you to apply today to be considered for a position that provides customer service to the citizens of Maryland every day. The MTA is one of the largest transit systems in the United States and is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join the MTA team.

The Maryland Department of Transportation's Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for A Repairman - Fare Collection. The A Repairman - Fare Collection will engage in diagnosis, repair and overhaul of all electronic, logic and digital equipment and electro-mechanical Fare Collection devices as operated by the MTA including Bus Fare boxes, Rail Ticket Vending Machines, Entry/Exit gates and other related equipment. The A Repairman must maintain all records and forms in accordance with all regulations and requirements of the MTA including entering Data into Maintenance Databases. Must have experience in logic systems, digital circuitry and electro-mechanical devices. Knowledge is required in all areas of fare collection, fare boxes and complex electronic circuitry. Must be able to drive buses at the MTA bus garage locations and on the street as needed for performance of Bus Fare box duties. Employee must possess the ability to operate maintenance and emergency vehicles, handle situations impacting revenue service and work of a similar nature and must be able to perform various other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Education: Possession of high school diploma or equivalency (GED) certificate.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience working in the field of electro-mechanics including logic systems, digital circuitry and electro-mechanical devices.

Applicants must submit a CURRENT copy of their complete driving record (NOT more than 30 days old), (NOT the 36 months driving record) available from MVA with their application to be considered for this position.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

This position requires a good driving record and a valid driver's license to legally operate a motor vehicle in the State of Maryland.

Must possess a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License/Lerner's Permit prior to hire and a CDL License within the (90) day probationary period, in accordance with the MTA CDL License and Medical Certification Policy.
