An upscale restaurant in Towson, MD is seeking a General Manager and an Assistant General Manager to lead our front of the house team. We are looking for enthusiastic, detail:oriented and responsible individuals to manage the general operations of the establishment.
Applicants should have a genuine love of food, wine, cocktails, and service and understand the importance of building relationships with both guests and employees. Applicants should also be proficient in scheduling and managing labor costs, training and team development, purchasing and receiving, inventory, point of sales programming, and floor management at the highest level.
Applicants must have a minimum of four to six years of hospitality experience with at least two to three years of management experience. Business acumen and a genuine, hospitable style are key.

Job Description

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the restaurant, including the hiring, development and performance of their department employees, as well as inventory and ordering of all restaurant supplies. They are responsible for maintaining efficient steps of service and upholding the highest level of hospitality. The General Manager reports to the Director of Restaurant Operations and the Assistant General Manager reports to the General Manager.

Essential Job Functions:
Maintaining People First culture to ensure the delivery of excellent internal/external guest service by team members
Maintaining professional principles and standards : competence, confidentiality, integrity, and credibility
Upholding high standards of sanitation and food safety
Control the day:to:day operations of the restaurant within the policies and guidelines set forth by the company, including the maintaining of appropriate levels of staffing
Optimizing profits by controlling food, beverage and labor costs
Hiring, training and developing new hourly team members
Adhering to recipes and ensuring proper portion control
Ensuring all employees are adhering to all regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures
Greeting and interacting positively with our guests and fellow employees
Increasing sales by ensuring guest satisfaction and prompt problem resolution
Remaining poised under pressure and motivate team members
Maintaining an overall management style in accordance with our established best practices
Providing leadership and direction to all team members to ensure efficient operation
Ensuring food quality and availability
Identifying loyal customers when possible and go above and beyond when necessary to not only maintain retention, but to also add to this loyal consumer base as well.
Actively participating in Marketing Organization. Being aware of all current promotions, offers, promotional handouts, and campaigns.

Job Requirements:

Ability to multi:task and delegate
Must be able to stand for 9+ hours per day
Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs)
Must have ability to accurately handle money, make change, process credit card transactions and have excellent menu knowledge
Knowledge of POS systems
Must possess basic computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office programs
Must possess strong leadership and communication skills
Must have open and flexible availability
