Our after school program is looking for energetic and creative team players who enjoy working with school aged children. We are hiring for Active Program Directors. In a Director, we look for committed individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young children and their families, while effectively and efficiently running all After School operations. Upon hire, employees must pass a background check and provide documentation of education, certifications and trainings. If approved or certified to teach no experience is required but experience teaching or management experience in a licensed facility is a plus.

Position will be filled in October 2017. Interviewing appointments will be scheduled as resumes is submitted.

Director Qualification:

1. High school diploma, certificate of high school equivalency, or successful completion of college courses for credit

2. 6 semester OR 90 clock hours OR the equivalent of approved school-age coursework (45 hours child development and 45 hours curriculum planning) OR a teaching certificate from MSDE or any state for K-8

3. 90 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents and the public
Required Skills and Experience:
• At least one year of teaching experience with the ability to develop, engage, and inspire a team

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day

• Ability to build relationships with families and staff and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand-in-hand

• Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively

• Must meet state specific guidelines for the role

• Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors.

• Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.

• Ability to speak, read, and write English.

Director Role include, but are not limited to:

•Ensuring curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices are in place in the center.
•Conducting tours for prospective parents and enrolling new families.
•Creating and implementing local marketing plans to drive enrollment.
•Ensuring licensing standards are met and assisting in the accreditation process for the center.
•Assisting teachers with the weekly development and execution of the curriculum and program activities.
•Monitoring and managing the financial progress of your center.
•Ensuring a safe environment for the children in our care.
•Weekly site visits and Coordinate program logistics with staff.
•Maintain thorough documentation of the program including attendance sheets and pre & post tests.
