Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager 2 to lead our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Baltimore, MD at our ­­­­­­­­­­­Linthicum site.

This Mission Assurance (MA) Manager is responsible for leading the MA function for a Program Team within the Space ISR Division as a part of the Mission Systems Sector.

The MA Manager will support a specific critical program and lead a high performing MA team responsible for delivering high quality products and maintaining compliance across the organization and critical suppliers. The MA Manager will plan and execute the Program’s MA plan using measurable goals and effectiveness criteria in support of the overall business strategy of the unit, division and sector. Candidates to have proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills combined with a “can do” attitude are essential. The Mission Assurance Manager reports to the Division Mission Assurance Manager with additional reporting responsibilities to the VP of Business Area.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Interfaces with customers – critical component of the position. Ability to build trusted relationships and work through difficult challenges with the customers.
Fulfills Risk Manager functions for the Program.

Directs and coordinates quality assurance functional disciplines, including Quality Control, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Quality Programs and Quality Systems per ISO 9001 standards and other internal/external compliance standards and regulations.

Plans and manages the department’s manpower, budget and physical assets.

Plans and implements professional development and career management programs for MA personnel while positively influencing employee engagement.

Effectively manages a diverse team in geographically dispersed locations.

Oversees the proper implementation and execution of Continuous Improvement programs.

Provides clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, creates an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.

Creates effective partnership across all the client leadership teams, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain as well as the Profit and Loss Organizations.

Sets the strategy to meet customer’s expectations, regularly communicates program status.

Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality in accordance with contractual requirements.
