A full-time Membership and Sponsorship Associate is sought to support the Baltimore Chapter of The American Institute of Architects (AIABaltimore) and Baltimore Architecture Foundation. Qualified candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with the public and work with staff, numerous volunteers, members, and the general public. Excellent writing, organizational, and technical skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, and QuickBooks) are required. Preferred candidate will also have a college degree and membership database management experience, and skill in managing member volunteers, programs and special events in a professional association or nonprofit membership organization setting. Most importantly, this position requires an individual capable of managing multiple priorities in a gracious, precise, professional manner, on a timely basis. Accuracy, attention to detail, independent and team work abilities necessary. A desire for professional growth and the ability to solve problems in an imaginative, creative manner are assets. This is an Exempt position reporting to the Executive Director.

Membership and Sponsorship General Duties

Represent all three levels of The American Institute of Architects to current and prospective members.
Represent the Baltimore Architecture Foundation to current and prospective contributors.
Provide information to the public, members, and allied organization representatives in person, and via email and phone.
Help to recruit and welcome new members, including organizing and distributing monthly new member packets.
Maintain membership records and other databases.
Maintain chapter records and archives.
Provide educational and networking event organization and support.
Assist with fundraising and public relations activities.
Assist with maintaining bookkeeping records and invoicing.
Assist with office administration, bookstore operation, document sales, mail, light housekeeping, and other general tasks related to operation of a small non-profit professional association.

Membership and Sponsorship Coordination and Support

Attend and provide staff support for AIA committee meetings and AIA and BAF board meetings as required.
Serve as staff coordinator for the Allied Members Committee, Design Awards Committee, Golf Outing Committee, Fellows Committee, and Practice Management Committee.
Assist committees with organizing, executing, and facilitating special events and educational and networking programs throughout the year.
Attend and provide staff support for programs, meetings and events as required.
