The Human Resources Generalist II will support numerous departments with a variety of functions to include but not limited to: administering various benefits, interpreting and writing HR policies, performing a variety of compensation related responsibilities, consulting on employee relations matters, and contributing to organizational training and development initiatives. Interprets, clarifies and communicates various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, accreditation standards and government regulations to employees and management in an effort to maintain organizational compliance with such policies, statutes and practices.Collaborates with, and advises Department leaders regarding individual employee performance improvement initiatives, progressive discipline, employee coaching, goal setting, performance appraisals, and the all:encompassing performance management process.Mediates employee relations issues with focus on resolving disputes amicably. Advises supervisors on the progressive discipline process, performance improvement objectives and is present at terminations.Responds to allegations of harassment and discrimination, conducts investigations, documents each circumstance diligently, and settles grievances accordingly.Leads or participates in a variety of organizational development projects in relation to established departmental/Institute goals and objectives.Reviews and recommends revisions to existing policies, procedures and standard operating procedures. Regularly evaluates the Employee Handbook and makes recommendations for revisions needed to keep it current and aligned with changes in Institute policies.Designs, implements and continually improves Institute supervisory and employee training and development programs. Reports the effectiveness of these programs to HR Manager and makes suggestions for new topics, course revisions and third: party training initiatives.Evaluates and responds to unemployment claims. Represents the Institute at unemployment hearings when contesting such claims is warranted.Performs various compensation related functions to include but not limited to: job analysis, job classification, and internal and external salary analysis and compensation surveys.Performs a variety of benefits administration duties including but not limited to: Family Medical Leave Act administration, Short:Term and Long:Term Disability administration, triaging benefit questions and redirecting to appropriate specialist when necessary.Facilitates New Employee Orientation. Monitors employee feedback from each orientation and develops plans to revise and improve the program.Performs exit interviews. Collects data, identifies trends and assesses opportunities for organizational interventions such as staff training, supervisory training, team building, or changes to benefit plans and compensation practices.EDUCATION:BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is required. MA/MS preferred. EXPERIENCE: Three yearA?s experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Specialist with corresponding responsibilities and scope of responsibility. Experience in a Healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
