We are seeking an analytical staff person to research funds, understand a client’s portfolio, assist our advisors in providing in-depth financial plans, and help prepare for client reviews. This position provides technical support to his/her assigned advisor, including gathering client data, inputting and synthesizing that data, as well as organizing and maintaining financial documents and data.

Your job, as an AFP, is to enhance the client experience by servicing clients and prospective clients and providing operational and administrative support to our advisors.

● Research funds and make recommendations to advisor
● Service client accounts and answer client questions on their portfolios
● Troubleshoot reporting issues with the back office
● Monitor, track, and input fund cost basis
● Rebalance and input trades on client portfolios as necessary
● Anticipate advisor’s needs and handle them proactively
● Oversee investment models and participate on Investment Committee
● Review statements provided by clients
● Input updated values into appropriate planning software
● Conduct monthly/quarterly/ad hoc client reporting
● Interview clients about their attitudes, financial constraints, and goals
● Identify problem areas and summarize for the advisor
● Conduct research
● Use broker/dealer forms
● Read trade journals, books, and other publications
● Calculate projections
● Assist with marketing initiatives (attend tradeshows with advisor in support capacity, research venues for events, feasibility/ROI projections
● Other ad-hoc requests from assigned advisor
● Respond to client questions and concerns
● Follow-up with clients to confirm data for financial plans

Job Requirements

● 3–5+ years in the financial services industry, preferably in a research, paraplanner or investment analyst role
● Proficiency with MoneyGuidePro planning software, a plus
● Registered ParaplannerSM (RP®) designation, a plus
● Familiarity with National Financial Services (NFS), a plus
● BA or BS in business/finance/economics/accounting
● Prior enrollment or willingness to enroll in CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(tm) Professional certification program or Chartered Financial Analyst designation
● FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities registrations
● Experience working with NFS processes and forms, a plus
● Good understanding of financial planning concepts and terminology
● Attention to detail a must
● Knowledge of mutual fund, stock, bond, insurance, and annuity products
● Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and Morningstar® Advisor WorkstationSM
● Argus, Value Line, Forefield Advisor experiece, a plus
