Veterinary professionals are needed to pass on their expertise! Harford Community College is hiring part-time instructors to support the Veterinary Assistant Certification program, part of our Continuing Education and Training division. Instructors prepare students for work as a Veterinary Assistant through engaging lectures and interactive classroom lab activities based on the standards outlined by the NAVTA. Duties include, but are not limited to, delivering coursework as it applies to the appropriate curriculum; using contemporary teaching strategies and practices; administering written and practical skills assessments; accurately record student attendance; and perform other duties as assigned. The program is currently offered during the fall/winter sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm Minimum required qualifications include: Currently licensed as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) or as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the State of Maryland; proof of licensure must be provided Minimum of an associate's degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA-approved school Minimum of three (3) years of occupational experience in the veterinary field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must be available to teach in the evenings.
