Founded in 1943 and a Johns Hopkins division since 1950, The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins (SAIS) has been educating global leaders for more than 70 years. As a highly selective graduate institution with a distinguished faculty, SAIS consistently ranks as one of the top schools of international relations in the world. SAIS was founded to provide a practical approach to training students in international leadership and foreign relations, and to provide mid-career educational opportunities for those already working in related fields. Today, SAIS offers the MA, MIPP, MAIA, MAIS, MIEF, GPP, and Ph.D. degrees and enrolls 640 full-time students in Washington, DC, primarily in the school's two-year Master of Arts program. Nearly 40 percent of the students are non-citizens coming from more than 70 countries. About 200 students attend SAIS Europe in Bologna, Italy, while about 180 students attend the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, China. To learn more about SAIS, visit Overview In support of the MIEF program at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), the Teaching Assistant will assist with grading problem sets, assignments and exams; and communicating with faculty professor (62%), keeping office hours, answering questions, and clarifying concepts for students (25%), and communicating weekly with faculty professors (13%). * Please note, this is an open and continuous and multiple positions will be filled under this posting. The primary duties and responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to: * Participating in classroom discussions and activities, and providing support to the professor * Providing feedback to students regarding discussions, assignments and tests * Holding office hours with students to review materials, answer general questions, and provide some assistance on assignments * Providing the professor with feedback related to student performance * Assisting instructors in managing the evaluation of course assignments and development of feedback * Grading problem sets and exams * Other duties as assignedPosted by StartWire
