NHS is currently seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our unique in-district training program working with teachers and special education staff within the Baltimore County School District. The role of the SLP / Autism Communications Consultant will include working collaboratively with the behavior analyst and special education coach on the NHS team. This team will deliver professional development and training throughout the school year to schools in the Baltimore County area. This position is based out of the Towson, MD district office but will require travel to all 140 schools within the district. This team will deliver professional development and training throughout the school year to schools in the Baltimore County area. Responsibilities include: Organizing and facilitating district professional development in the realm of speech, language, and communication Observing, modeling, and mentoring staff working with students with communication needs Provide support to smaller teams of teachers in a learning community Provide on-site coaching Align all trainings with the College and Career Readiness Standards and Core Content Connectors Work collaboratively with the district Classroom observations Provide support to staff working with non-verbal students Administer necessary speech evaluations Develop and implement speech exercises identified for each individual Coordinate with teachers/other team members regarding effective techniques to use for each individual in the classroom setting. Help Develop IEP goals based on assessments or recommendation of other workers (speech therapist, physician, psychologist, etc.) Train and use any augmentative devices necessary for individual treatment. Complete and maintain necessary records and documentation of sessions on site. Other duties as assigned to meet programmatic needs.
