Based in Baltimore, Maryland, you will drive a higher level of fleet reliability and maintenance optimization through the development and introduction of processes and engineering practices. You will investigate new concepts and proven tools that will deliver higher reliability. You also will utilize KPI's to evaluate performance and recommend improvements. You will ensure all opportunities in regards to improved reliability, lower operating costs, asset availability, fleet safety and product quality are recognized. Support the business in regards to engineering needs.
In your role you will:
: Develop methods for gathering, analyzing and examining reliability data then correlate this data using well defined engineering techniques, practices and processes. Track vehicle performance based on defined KPI's. Prepare consolidated recommendations and reports on what action should be taken to drive a higher level of reliability;
: Plan and perform engineering research in regards to equipment, components and processes using general engineering practices focused on reliability improvements;
: Review, design and develop new and unique engineering methods and work practices/procedures, identify and evaluate special equipment, innovative test procedures, perform risk/safety analysis and prepare detailed technical report and recommendations aimed at driving reliability. Consider cost impact, asset availability, safety, improved through:put, minimized down time and shop efficiencies in addressing reliability issues;
: Review existing maintenance techniques and practices to validate their effectiveness. Review potential maintenance techniques and scientific tools that may be introduced to drive a higher level of reliability, optimize our maintenance programs, lower cost, and maintain the highest possible level of safety. Make recommendations and prepare commercial justifications for such investments and or implementations; Determine impact on customer contract requirements and Federal regulations;
: Manage the creation, updating, and management of all Vehicle Maintenance Instructions, Vehicle Standard Operating Procedures, Maintenance Circulars, and Equipment Manuals. Research, plan, write and revise technical maintenance data using engineering and approved data from multiple sources, while ensuring adherence to schedule.
As our ideal candidate:
: You have a Bachelors in Engineering Mechanical or Electrical;
: You possess five (5) or more years of experience as an Engineer, preferably in the Rail sector;
: You possess a sound knowledge in the execution of a variety of reliability processes, principles and tools such as RCM, FRACAS, Fault Tree, Reliability Prediction etc;
: You have hands on experience in managing and executing complex reliability projects;
: You own experience and knowledge of transportation equipment;
: Your experience and knowledge of maintenance optimization and varying maintenance practices and principles would be a definite asset;
: You own computer skills in: Maximo, Microsoft Office, Project, Power Point, Excel;
: You have knowledge and experience in using ERP and MRP systems;
: You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and build strong relationships;
: You are a self:starter and you have willingness to travel;
: You can work independently and be well disciplined;
: Your English communication skills are excellent both written and spoken.
