Connections Education is part of the global education company, Pearson.Responsibilities:Connections Education is looking to add to our growing Multimedia Standards and Design department. We produce curriculum products supporting multiple subjects and grade levels science, art, math, social studies, language arts, and more. This position requires some background in curriculum and instruction skills, command of effective instructional design strategies for eLearning initiatives, understanding of Common Core standards and alignment, and the ability to use rapid development eLearning tools for some training overlap projects. Attention to mobile learning designs and accessibility requirements are also important tenets to achieve corporate objectives.To earn a spot on our team, you'll show us that you can create outstanding work both as an individual and as part of a larger collaborative team. You'll show us that you know how to turn a vision into a working storyboard that our motion graphic designers can easily translate into the final product. You'll also demonstrate a keen attention to detail in grammar, punctuation, and visual layout/accuracy of the final product. You will also be effective at supporting and guiding other staff (both internal and supplementary) in developing quality, instructionally-sound materials. Most importantly, you'll demonstrate your desire to be a part of delivering something with purpose that makes a difference in people's lives.For your application to be considered, you absolutely, positively must have: Minimum of 2 years' experience combination of K-12 teaching experience and curriculum development, preferably across multiple subject areas Experience developing online courseware/eLearning preferred Demonstrates ability to combine pedagogical design with content development while following sound instructional design methodologies Experience supporting other instructional designers in developing to product standards and sound instructional design principles. Samples of some of your completed projects, preferably storyboards and final product (writing sample minimum) A natural eye for multimedia design: layout, style, color selection, motion, graphics, audio (the whole nine yards) An almost compulsive attention to detailgrammar and punctuation, visual design and layout, audio accuracy, and effective presentation Able to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet hard deadlines Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteThe following, while not strictly necessary, will put you ahead: Degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or equivalent; advanced degree in Instructional Design/Technology preferred Experience with learning management systems Experience with rapid eLearning tools like Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia, Flash, etc. Understanding of accessibility standards, including 508 or WCAG 2.0 compliance Exposure to mLearning designs and user interface considerations
