The Instructional assistant at Our Lady of Grace Pre-School is expected to accept the responsibility for all required responsibilities and to take the initiative to inquire about other tasks that need to be completed and to follow through on all assigned tasks and duties assigned by the teacher or school administration. The assistant will work Monday through Friday from 8-11:30 or as directed by the Pre-School Director. Job Responsibilities: Aide with arrival, bathroom, snack, lunch, recess and dismissal dutiesTake attendance each day.Have the ability to use all forms of technology used in the classroom.Maintain distribution lists to send emails to parents.In the short-term absence of the teacher, assume role and responsibility for classroom.Responsible for learning routine procedures for assigned class, including prayer, pledge, calendar, room set up, student procedures, etc.Responsible for collecting permission slips, field trip monies, etc.Replenish paper products and other supplies for the room as neededRemain with students when no other teacher or assistant is presentRemain with students and assist teacher during specials if requestedHelp with testing of incoming and current studentsFollow directives of administration and teachers and carry out duties in a responsible manner.Observe confidentiality with regard to student records and any information that may come to assistant in area of work.Qualifications:HS diploma, some college preferredMinimum of 90 hour childcare certificationParticipate in the MSDE Accreditation Process in regards to fulfilling the requirements for credentialing (ie continued core of knowledge training, and professional development in the field of early childhood education)Fully support the Archdiocese of Baltimore and Our Lady of Grace Pre-School initiatives.
