Trigyn's direct government client has a contract assignment (9 Months) for Executive Director in Baltimore, MD.Purpose:Student involvement, as with community involvement, is an essential component of effective school policy implementation. The primary focus of the Executive Director is to insure secondary school students are provided with opportunities to become involved in education issues. The Executive Director will also work with other agencies and community groups to promote youth development theory and youth involvement in decision-making statewide.Nature of Work: Plans and hosts a meeting for Executive Directors from Eastern Shore. Develops informational packet for the client officers. Meets twice monthly with officer team for training, mentoring, and updates. Schedules, plans, and facilitates bi-monthly executive board meetings. May, August, October, December, and February. Schedules and plans quarterly meeting including Assistant State Superintendent, Director, and Officer Team. Provides technical support and leads training workshops for the 24 regional advisors. Sponsors at least one advisor meeting to inform advisors of their role in developing the organization and student leaders. Plans advisor meetings and training sessions at Fall Leadership Conference. Provides weekly updates to the director regarding current status Provides technical support to Executive Team in the planning and execution of: Advance: Staff Development Day, Technical Training Day, Middle School Leadership Conference, Executive Board Meeting Executive Board Meeting with the Educational Forum & Health and Social Issues Forum. Fall Leadership Conference. Legislative Session. Annually updates the Assistant State Superintendent for the Division of Student, Family, and School Support, Deputy Superintendent for School Effectiveness, and State Superintendent regarding the status of student representation on local school boards statewide. Prepare President to present update to State Board. Coordinates selection and placement of students on committees and work groups dealing with current state education issues and initiatives. Coordinates and assists with special student outreach initiatives assigned by the Director, the Assistant State Superintendent, Deputy, and the State Superintendent of Schools. Conducts student focus groups on various education topics as assigned. Utilizes all social media tools. Attends monthly Youth Development Branch meetings and Division meetings as Specialist.Essential Requirements: The consultant must be an educator with experience in organizing student leadership groups. The consultant must have experience in working with educational and community-based organizations. He/she must be familiar with various programs for children and young adolescents.
