Civic Works, Inc. seeks an organized, independent individual with leadership and administrative experience and a demonstrated passion for food justice, community development, education and the environment to work with the Planting and Stewardship coordinator in running the day to day operations of the Baltimore Orchard Project. Baltimore Orchard Project (BOP), a program of Civic Works (CW), works to strengthen Baltimore’s communities through planting and cultivating orchards, teaching citizens to be long-term stewards, and sharing the harvest among neighbors. BOP’s five programmatic areas are: Planting, Stewardship, Youth Education, Harvest and Distribution.

The position requires 40 hours per week and offers a salary plus benefits including short and long-term disability, supported health care, 401k, and dental. The Education and Stewardship Coordinator and the Planting and Stewardship Coordinator report directly to the Civic Works Chief Operating Officer.

Job Responsibilities:
Ensure the successful completion of Youth Education programs either directly or with the help of Corpsmembers, including lesson plan development and coordination with youth program administrators
Establish MOU’s and funding agreements with Youth Education Partners
Integrate Orchard Ecosystem Education into Baltimore City schools, afterschool programs, religious educational programs, and youth groups
Collaborate with Real Food Farm Youth Education Coordinator
Support new and existing school yard orchard partners with stewardship and planting activities
Plan logistics and curriculum for BOP’s Fruit & Nut Tree Academy and Orchard Stewards training program
Serve as the point person for coordinating the logistics and partnerships involved with the Mulberry Madness Campaign
Coordinate food demonstrations and other food preparation and nutrition related events
Supervise the AmeriCorps harvest coordinator in carrying out all aspects of the harvest program including harvest events, distribution, and follow-up
Manage and strengthen long term partnerships with harvest and distribution partners throughout the year
Manage and supervise BOP’s AmeriCorps MICA CAC Member, AmeriCorps Youth Education Coordinator, and AmeriCorps Harvest Coordinator and other BOP Team members including interns and volunteers (individuals and groups).
Create an annual BOP budget and outline grant requests with the BOP Planting Coordinator, COO, and Fund Development Director
Regularly report to and establish strategic plans with the BOP Board
Manage data tracking systems for internal and external reports. Complete reports as required by donors and CW, including the monthly Performance Review.
