The Director for Student Activities ensures that a wide range of co-curricular offerings are made available to HCC students, using a variety of modalities with the goal of enhancing the student experience and fostering inclusion and engagement. Duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing several program areas, including student leadership, orientation, wellness, community service, registered student organizations, and commencement; making certain that budget guidelines and campus policies are maintained; coordinating with staff on program creation, implementation, marketing and assessment; supervising and evaluating Student Activities staff; developing and maintaining budgets; communicating opportunities, policies and guidelines; collaborating with a variety of departments within the College; working with vendors, artists and contractors to complete programs and projects; using technologies for publications and marketing; and troubleshooting issues and problems. Other duties include serving on committees; completing special projects; solving issues in the Student Center space; supervising and traveling with students on day and overnight trips; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This is an exempt, professional staff position reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Development. A master's degree and three to five years of related experience are required. Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment is also required. Applicants will be evaluated on criteria including, but not limited to: Experience with adherence to legal mandates and risk assessment practices Experience with data collection and assessment Experience with event management, including commencement ceremonies Experience managing budgets, including oversight of student fee allocations Experience offering co-curricular programs with a focus on student engagement and participation Experience with advising and overseeing registered student organizations and/or student government Experience overseeing and implementing programs that address equity and inclusion, such as Safe Zone and/or cultural programming for students of color and/or students with disabilities Experience supervising staff A valid driver's license is required.
