Join our Team Our talented and diverse team is comprised of individuals with a variety of backgrounds who share BELLA cents € (TM) s mission and who work tirelessly to see it through. We seek qualified, driven, and dedicated Instructional Coaches to join our team. Coach with BELL: BELL hires certified teachers with leadership experience to serve as instructional coaches in our afterschool and summer programs. Coaches provide individualized support and feedback to classroom teachers and teaching assistants to improve overall instruction in ELA and math and student engagement and achievement. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills with various stakeholders, including scholars, families, and BELL and district colleagues Demonstrated knowledge of research-based instructional strategies that engage all students across subject areas (ELA and math) Content area expertise in ELA, math or both Ability to identify staff learning needs, and design and deliver appropriate individualized or group professional development and coaching to meet needs Demonstrated ability to use data to inform student groupings and differentiate instruction Strong working knowledge of instructional shifts necessary for alignment to the Common Core State Standards Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adjust and adapt instructional strategies swiftly given the short duration of summer programs (4 A cents € " 6 weeks) Evidence of efficacy and willingness to be a team player Demonstrated ability to lead a team Responsibilities The Instructional Coach has three primary responsibilities: 1) Pre-service professional development and ongoing coaching for teachers and teaching assistants; 2) Providing leadership on the implementation of instruction and meeting the academic needs of scholars; 3) Analyzing assessment data to inform instruction and instructional groupings. Professional Development & Coaching Adapt and facilitate professional development for instructional staff on at least the following topics prior to site launch and ongoing as needed: BELLA cents € (TM) s approach, philosophy and Standards of Practice BELLA cents € (TM) s site and program expectations and procedures BELLA cents € (TM) s curriculum and assessment methods Using data to inform instruction and student groupings Lesson planning and differentiating instruction Behavior management Conduct classroom observations to ensure proper implementation of curriculum, instructional practices, and classroom/behavior management Provide feedback to staff on instructional practices Identify staff learning needs and develop just-in-time, appropriate individualized or group professional development and coaching to meet needs Review lesson plans and other instructional support tools, provide timely feedback, and create and maintain A cents € oebest practiceA cents € instructional strategies and resources for staff Leadership & Relationships Oversee the implementation of instruction, including curriculum implementation, instructional methods and practices, and classroom and behavior management Collaborate with members of the Site Leadership Team to ensure a safe, productive, and efficient program for staff and scholars Raise issues with Site Leadership Team as appropriate, particularly related to the safety and achievement of scholars Monitor scholarsA cents € (TM) educational and social progress and make necessary recommendations for adjustments Proficiency with Assessments & Use of Assessment Data Review and analyze diagnostic and on-going formal assessment data with teaching staff and develop appropriate instructional groups Coach staff on continuing use of assessments and assessment data to adjust instruction and instructional groupings Coach and support staff in the implementation of data-driven and differentiated instructional practices in both literacy and mathematics Ensure uniformity and timeliness of assessments and family reporting Participate in Professional Development Comply with all BELL and/or district professional development requirements Additional Qualifications BachelorA cents € (TM) s degree required. MasterA cents € (TM) s degree preferred. Previous relevant experience as head or assistant head of instruction Previous relevant experience in coaching of instructional staff Previous relevant experience designing and delivering individualized and group professional development Experience in the use of technology (computer/internet) for assessment and instruction At least 3-5 years working in an urban public school with (elementary/middle school/K-8) children, preferably at the host school State certification required Committed to the goals of the program and approach Love and respect for children Belief and commitment to BELLA cents € (TM) s mission and values
