Job Description Gerner Energy is searching for a friendly and upbeat Inside Sales Representative to join our team in Sparks Glencoe, MD! Services inbound customer calls to proactively resolve customer issues as well as retain and expand customer relationships through cross-selling and up-selling opportunities. Through conversations with potential customers, incorporate needs analysis at every opportunity, build rapport, offer advice and overcome objections to generate sales. Focusing on first contact resolution in an efficient, accurate, professional and courteous manner to create customer loyalty. Defuse irate customers and resolve challenging inquiries while following guidelines to satisfy customers. Executes on all of the day to day Customer Service activities as well as assist Office Administrator as needed. Reports potential or existing customer issues and problems to the President, and maintains excellent customer service relationships. Assists with other areas of accounting when necessary. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves customers by providing information, and resolving problems. Recognizing and capturing potential new customer, up sell and cross sell opportunities from telephone interaction with existing and potential customers. Troubleshoots and resolves problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution. Required to meet and/or exceed the sales goals and objectives. Retaining Gerner Energy customers and assisting with program analysis and suggestions for improvement. Ability to work a flexible schedule that include evenings and weekends is an express condition of employment. Possessing a complete working knowledge of the product lines, policies and various services offered by Gerner Energy. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks and assignments as assigned. Processes new customer account set-ups by obtaining all relevant personal and credit information as required. Prepares account change forms to initiate data changes to a customer account information. Prepares petroleum and service tickets for execution by the delivery & service departments. Possesses the skills and mastered the job requirements for all day to day activities. Possesses the ability to conduct a professional telephone conversation with customers and vendors while providing excellent customer satisfaction levels. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: High School diploma or equivalent. 2– 3 years of customer service experience. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with Gerner Energy customers, co-workers and vendors. Customer Service, Product Knowledge, Quality Focus, Problem Solving, Market Knowledge, Documentation Skills, Listening, Phone Skills, Resolving Conflict, Analyzing Information, Multi-tasking. Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel and all of the customer service related desktop software such as QuickBooks, AVATAS (Credit Card Processing) and Gerner Energy Web Site. Ability to be consistent, concentrate and pay attention to detail and handle multiple tasks. Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks as required. Excellent listening skills.
