The Static Speaks My Name

An official adaptation of Jesse Barksdale’s hit indie horror video game, The Static Speaks My Name.

Non-Union, Independent short film project. Shooting Starts in October, 2017.

The Static Speaks My Name follows JACQUE ERNHOLTZ as we bear witness to the pain and finality of her obsession with a painting and its painter, JASON MALONE. This unique story confronts the desire for our lives to make sense in a world that does not, and acts as a sorry reminder of our absurdity when seeking to understanding a life by oversimplifying it.

Please send headshots, resumes and acting reels to the email address below to be considered for the first round of auditions. Those selected will then be sent material from which the applicants will create and submit an audition video. The call-back selection from the first round will be in-person, of which will be selected the final cast.

Audition materials must be submitted by July 17, 2017.

Jacque is a woman with dangerously low self-esteem with only a trio of distant friends. Her obsession over a painting has driven her to a defining moment in her life, and her next decision may be irreversible. But will she actually take that next step?

Jason is a cocky dimestore painter, neither famous nor infamous, his work goes by generally unnoticed and relegated to the likes of dentist waiting rooms. While out on a hiking trip, Jason disappears. But there may be more to it than a simple backpacking accident.
