New Fellowship Christian Community Church, located at 5200-5204 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215, is searching for a part-time, Church Secretary who possesses the skills to coordinate the daily operations of the church office, handle administrative responsibilities, and provide a wide range of administrative support to the Senior Pastor (when selected), Executive Pastor, and the overall church.

HOURS: Tuesday 11:00 am – 6:30 pm

Thursday 11:00 am – 6:30 pm

Friday 9:30 am – 4:00 pm

(Possibility of one additional day during the week to be added upon the selection of a Pastor)

QUALIFICATIONS:

College graduate or equivalent work-related experience.
Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Secretary (must be able to provide three verifiable references to attest to experience).
Minimum typing at 45 WPM with accuracy and transcribing experience.
Strong computer skills are imperative (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Proficiency in the use of standard office tools (typewriter, computer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine, etc.).
Strong organizational skills.
Have excellent command of English composition and punctuation.
Excellent communication skills.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Maintenance and organization of reception area.
Ordering and maintenance of office supplies and equipment (with prior authorization from the Chairman of the Finance Ministry).
Organization and maintenance of calendars (Church, Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Minister of Music).
Pick up, distribution, and dissemination of all mail and correspondence.
Screening and routing all incoming telephone calls.
Maintenance of email account (monitor, screen, distribute, and respond).
Coordinate scheduling for weddings and baptisms.
Type, print, and fold weekly bulletins.
Keep accurate membership records (new members, baptisms, weddings, deaths).
Answer mail – correspondence by writing letters or making telephone calls.
Process baby dedication requests and prepare baby dedication certificates.
Routine filing of paperwork.
Coordinate travel arrangements for speaking engagements.
Set up counseling meetings and other appointments.
Notify Executive Pastor of member hospitalizations, deaths, etc.
Maintain and update all standard forms (letterhead) and ministry literature.
Organize Monthly Leadership Meetings (working with ministry leaders to develop agenda items, obtain and prepare presentations, and attend to set up A/V equipment, distribute packets, take attendance, and assist as needed.

Successful candidate should be a self-starter, proficient at multi-tasking and prioritizing projects.
Successful candidate should always exercise discernment and wise judgment.
Successful candidate must utilize a time-clock to document hours worked.
Successful candidate should contact Executive Pastor and Chairman of Finance Ministry when unable to report to work at least one (1) hour prior to scheduled report time.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Successful candidate will be subject to drug screening prior to hiring and during employment.
Successful candidate will need to take the following proficiency tests: spelling, general computer, and MS Office.
Successful candidate will receive one-week paid vacation a year.
NFCCC does not provide health benefits at this time.
Church Office closings due to inclement weather will follow Baltimore City Public School Systems closings.
Church Office will be closed in observance of the following holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
