PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Sr. Financial Analyst is a subject matter expert for the financial planning, strategic financial analysis, financial modeling, and performance reporting activities an assigned business unit. The Senior Financial Analyst works closely with the Finance Business Partner and Sr Finance Manager to ensure that the Financial Analysis and Planning needs of the assigned business unit are met. The incumbent will independently lead analytical efforts to support the business, and create value-added deliverables for business partners. May lead assigned efforts to develop financial modeling, independently collaborating across the Finance and assigned business unit to integrate total cost views. The Sr. Financial Analyst will lead the creation of new deliverables including key performance indicator dashboards and other financial metric reporting as needed. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Planning & Forecasting Leads various financial and operational analysis projects requiring technical and financial expertise and business knowledgePartners with the FBP and business to understand business needs and gather requirements in order to provide the appropriate data and analysisPrepares financial models and projections to support business decision makingDevelops Total Cost views of the business through routine collaboration with the FBP or businessLeverages knowledge during modeling efforts of discounted cash flow (DCF), internal rate of return (IRR), sensitivity modeling and other predictive analytical methodsFacilitates and executes the completion of several key financial presentations for senior management in the firmProactively drives the collection of financial and operational information from multiple sources, anticipates needs, and integrates financial schedules and charts, analyzes results, and presents to management for official useServes as a subject matter expert supporting the design and execution of budgeting and forecasting activitiesProvides direction for financial analystsCoordinates and oversees the budget process for business units as well as coordinates the budget Business Analytics Tracks and ensures the delivery of operating plans through reporting and identification of key variances; drives recommended required actions to close gaps or capitalize on favorable trends.Analyzes ROI and profitability for business initiatives.Partners with FBP and managers to evaluate current reporting and provide more in-depth analytics on existing and new reports Leverages Business Intelligence Promotes and utilizes the latest data visualization tools and techniques to deliver results that drive business objectivesIndependently develops high quality and professional dashboards with limited guidanceConsults with the FBP and the business to identify new reporting options and to share best practicesServes as a subject matter expert on Business Intelligence tools and technology, dashboard design and development techniques, and query development expertiseEnsures quality and data integrity in all project deliverablesConsistently evaluates existing and new metrics to incorporate into all modified and newly-developed solutions. Leads Continuous Improvement Projects Identifies opportunities for enhancements and proactively implements process improvementsLeads financial projects, identifies key business and financial risks, and supports setting financial priorities within the scope of responsibilitiesParticipates in department and interdepartmental planning teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes.
