Description

Based in Baltimore, Maryland, you will be responsible for responsible for the day:to:day management of Bombardier's System Safety Program (SSP) and reports safety risks to all necessary stakeholders as appropriate.
In your role you will:
: Responsible for development, execution, and compliance with the Contractor's System Safety Program, and shall serve as a point of contact to the Customer;
: Identify common safety issues and formulate safety policies and procedures to resolve the identified issues. Interface with other departments and organizations including engineering, quality assurance, safety, and incidents;
: Ensure that systems are in place to track Regulatory requirements. Audit internal records covering regulated requirements. Determine needs and training in order to maintain full compliance;
: Interact with all regulatory Agencies on requirements and issues. Participate in external compliance audits. Ensure that regulatory changes and updates are obtained, reviewed and implemented through bulletins, notices, manuals, Operating Rules, job briefings and training;
: Serve on safety committees established by MTA as required. Provide technical support to safety and security certification committees established for Customer procurements and modifications to vehicles and equipment.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate:
: You hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field;
: You cumulate a minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar position of rail transit or rail transportation experience;
: You are certified in Safety Professional or at a minimum have a Transportation Safety Institute Rail Certificate
: You are proficient in conducting accident investigations consistent with FRA accident procedures;
: You have strong leadership and management skills;
: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills;
: You own strong desire to foster a supportive team environment;
: You have Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment;
: You own exceptional reliability and dedication;
: You have exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, and teamwork;
: You are organized and detail oriented;
: You have safety consciousness to ensure personal and passenger well:being;
: You are proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.);
: You are consider as a self:starter and motivated person;
: You are able to travel. The role requires being able to ride the commuter trains on the Brunswick and Camden Lines, visit the facilities that are linked to the operations and maintenance Bombardier provides for the MTA.
