Audit Readiness Analyst, Mid Key Role: Perform risk assessments, data analytics, and financial review agencies, compile and present audit findings, and suggest practical business improvement. Serve as a liaison during all audit phases, including Process Cycle Memorandums (PCM) consolidations and walkthroughs. Establish and monitor internal controls independently to identify problem areas, determine actions required to improve operating program effectiveness, and ensure and maintain the integrity of financial and accounting information. Perform special audits, studies, reports, and analysis to evaluate the status of the financial health and position of accounting and budgetary operations based on operational measurements, financial metrics, or other defined indicators. Analyze, evaluate, and review program issues and financial data and reports using business tools and applications, cost and economic analysis, and performance metrics to provide recommendations. Use integrated financial management systems and sub-systems to extract data, identify and resolve system problems, and maintain data integrity. Lead and manage various financial management and reporting projects, including the root cause analysis project designed to correct errors in journal vouchers agency wide, compile and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and consolidate Process Cycle Memorandums (PCMs). Basic Qualifications -5 years of experience as an accountant and analyst in the DoD or as a DoD support contractor -3 years of experience with performing financial statement audits or auditability assessments -3 years of experience with reviewing, analyzing, validating, and reconciling financial and accounting information -Experience with consulting in any of the following areas: business process improvement, financial management policies and procedures, or financial system integrations -Experience with US government financial accounting systems -Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 or OMB Circular A-123 documentation, Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR), or testing and reporting requirements -Current Secret clearance required -BA or BS degree -Defense Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Business and Financial Management Certified Defense Financial Management or private sector equivalent which demonstrates that the candidate meets the education, training, and experience Additional Qualifications: -BA or BS degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related business field required Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
